SKIN CANCER CARE

Today, skin cancer is the most frequently diagnosed form of cancer. And, as one of the most common conditions treated at MRMG Plastic Surgery, we promise to work diligently to ensure you are fully aware of and comfortable with your treatment plan.

Dr. Endara and Dr. Fulks have extensive experience with the surgical removal of the many types of skin cancers, including the most common forms described below:

BASAL CELL & SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer, while squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common type.

The treatment plan for both forms of cancer are very similar and involve the potential for remission with surgical intervention.

Because reconstruction after removal of these cancers can be challenging, especially when occurring in their common locations of the face, head, neck and scalp, Dr. Endara and Dr. Fulks possess extensive experience in planning reconstructive surgeries in coordination with dermatologic and general surgeons to optimize excision and repair.

MELANOMA

Melanoma is a very serious type of skin cancer that can be deadly. Even if treated appropriately, patients can see the development and spread of tumors outside the area of the original diagnosis.

These tumors are treated aggressively with wide excision and reconstruction as well as possible evaluation of the regional lymph nodes. When necessary, additional medical specialties are included in the proper treatment of this condition.

But know that regardless of the type of treatment required, the surgeons with MRMG Plastic Surgery will ensure complete understanding and comfort with treatment plans.
