LEWISBURG, Tenn. — William B. “Bill” Marsh has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Marshall Medical Center (MMC). Marsh succeeds Barry White who recently retired from the MMC board after 15 years of service, including seven years as chair.
Marsh is chief executive officer of First Commerce Bank. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of the School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Mid-South School of Banking at the University of Memphis. He served as a member of the MMC board of directors for nine years from 1992 to 2001, including one year as the board’s chairman. He was reappointed to the board in 2009.
“We are very pleased that Bill has been selected to serve as our board’s chairman. His knowledge of the medical center and the community are assets to our organization,” said MMC CEO Phyllis Brown. “We are also very grateful for the many years of service that Barry provided to Marshall Medical Center and extend best wishes to him in his retirement.”
