Maury Regional offers Mako knee and hip replacement seminar

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — More than 1 million individuals choose knee and hip replacement annually to help ease the pain of damaged joints. On July 9, Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will be hosting a free seminar on knee and hip replacement at 6 p.m. in the Maury Regional Annex located at 1223 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia.

Featured speakers will be orthopedic surgeons Scott W. McCall, M.D. and W. Cason Shirley, M.D., who perform joint replacement at MRMC. They will discuss the progression of deteriorating joints, when it may be time to consider joint replacement and the surgical options for knee and hip replacement. Drs. McCall and Shirley utilize the advanced Mako robotic system. Dr. McCall uses this technology to perform total and partial knee replacement and Dr. Shirley utilizes Mako for total hip replacement and total and partial knee replacement.
