Columbia's PrimeCare Clinic announces changes to benefit patients

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Maury Regional Health has announced the expansion of its PrimeCare Clinic in Columbia.

As of September 1, Maury Regional Medical Group (MRMG) Primary Care in Columbia will become part of PrimeCare Clinic and its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) designation. The newly expanded practice includes 13 physicians and mid-level providers who see patients at the Maury Regional Medical Plaza located at 854 W. James Campbell Boulevard in Columbia.

FQHC practices offer a patient-centered medical home approach and use a sliding fee schedule to calculate discounts for patients based on income and household size. Since 2014, Maury Regional Health has offered federally-qualified services at several medical practices in southern Middle Tennessee. In addition to PrimeCare Clinic, Lewis Health Center in Hohenwald, Lewisburg Family Practice, Lewisburg Pediatrics and Primary Care-Waynesboro are also federally-qualified.

As of a result of the PrimeCare Clinic expansion, patients of Charles Ball, M.D., Thomas Farmer, M.D., Ben Gardner, M.D., Padma Narra, M.D., Andrew Nielsen, M.D., and Shavonne Morgan, FNP-BC, are eligible to apply for FQHC-related benefits. Patients are encouraged to ask how they may qualify upon their next visit. The practice will continue to accept Medicare, Medicaid, TennCare and commercial insurance.

While its name will change to PrimeCare Clinic, the former MRMG Primary Care practice will remain in Suite 403 of the Maury Regional Medical Plaza and the phone number will remain 931.380.0075. The original portion of PrimeCare Clinic — and its associated providers — will remain in Suite 301 of the Maury Regional Medical Plaza with a phone number of 931.540.4140.
