LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Marshall Medical Center (MMC) in Lewisburg recently installed new diagnostic imaging equipment. According to MMC CEO Phyllis Brown, MMC has acquired the Symbia® Evo Excel from Siemens Healthcare that is used to perform nuclear medicine studies.

“We are pleased to enhance the imaging equipment available at Marshall Medical Center,” said Brown. “This scanner will serve our physicians and their patients well, providing increased patient comfort, high-quality images and flexibility.”

Symbia utilizes a high-capacity patient bed, a 30 percent larger bore than previous systems and highly flexible detectors. These features allow the equipment to accommodate patients weighing as much as 500 lbs. and critically ill patients. It also increases the variety of applications offered, providing imaging configurations for general purpose, cardiology, oncology and neurology studies.

Nuclear medicine is part of the range of diagnostic imaging modalities offered by MMC. Other imaging services available at the facility include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), 3D mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry. Learn more at MauryRegional.com/locations/Marshall-Medical-Center.
