Patient Updates
You will be asked to select a family spokesperson with which physicians and staff should communicate regarding the patient. Due to federal regulations and privacy laws, information that staff may share about the patient is limited and will be communicated to the designated spokesperson. This person will be given a pass code and must provide the code to receive updates. The spokesperson may then share this information with appropriate family and friends. To receive information by phone, call 931.381.1111 and ask to speak to a nurse in the appropriate critical care unit, providing the pass code given.
Because of the advanced level of care provided to our patients, extensive communications about the patient’s condition, medications and other services take time as new physicians and employees arrive for the next shift to care for your loved one. For this reason, we ask that you try to limit your calls to the units as much as possible from 6:30-9:30 a.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. as this process takes place.
