Art Effects slated for August 2 & 3

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – For seven years, the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation has drawn talented artists from across the region to Columbia for Art Effects, an art show and sale that enables the foundation to assist local patients in need.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, August 2, from noon until 8 p.m., and Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Memorial Building in Columbia.

“The talent that our committee is able to attract to Art Effects each year is truly amazing,” said Foundation Executive Director Joe Kilgore. “We are honored to have such an outstanding group of artists share their talents with us as we raise funds to help patients, many of whom are facing challenges that we cannot imagine.”

The 2013 Art Effects featured artist is Beverly Basham Smith of Vinemont, Alabama. She will be joined by more than 30 artists whose mediums include oil, watercolor, pottery, jewelry, wood and much more.

Proceeds from this year’s Art Effects will benefit the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation’s Dispensary of Hope fund and other medication assistance programs. The corporate sponsor for Art Effects is Roger Witherow and Associates, Incorporated. To learn more about the foundation or to make a donation, visit or call 931.380.4075.
