Know the Signs of Heart Attack and Stroke

Call 9-1-1 immediately if the symptoms below are experienced.

Heart Attack Warning Signs

  • Chest discomfort such as pressure, tightness or pain
  • Discomfort in other parts of upper body
  • (arm, jaw, back, or neck)
  • Shortness of breath
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Nausea, light-headedness, or cold sweat

Stroke Warning Signs

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Sudden trouble seeing – in one or both eyes
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden severe headache – with no known cause
