COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Diabetes Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host a meeting titled “Understanding Diabetes” on Tuesday, May 3, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 11:30 a.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

Keith Cryar, M.D., an endocrinologist on the medical staff at MRMC, will provide an overview of diabetes and address the complications that can occur when the disease is left untreated.

“Diabetes is a disease that can cause serious long-term complications when not treated properly,” Cryar said. “At the upcoming meeting, we will discuss complications of diabetes and some of the best ways to control your blood sugar.”
