MAURY REGIONAL DIABETES EDUCATION GROUP DISCUSSES HEALTH CARE DECISION MAKING

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Diabetes Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host a meeting titled “Health Care Decisions” on Tuesday, September 7, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 11:30 a.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

Rosemary Martin, a social worker at the medical center, will discuss the various options for communicating health care wishes to family, friends and clinical professionals in the event that you are unable to personally express your desires.

“It is important to understand the differences between a living will, durable power of attorney and other advance directives,” said Donna Shedd, diabetes program coordinator at MRMC.  “At the upcoming meeting, we will talk about the various types of health care decision options.”
