FIRST FARMERS AND MERCHANTS BANK INNOVATOR AWARD WINNER DONATES TO MAURY REGIONAL HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – First Farmers and Merchants Bank (F&M) Innovator Award winner Harvey Church dedicated his $1,000 award winnings to the Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation’s Community Health program, which will help fund the community health nurse’s work in the Maury County Public School System.

The Innovation Award is presented to the F&M employee or team that has achieved the most significant innovation in the bank’s delivery of financial services to customers. In recognition of the achievement of the recipient, F&M donates $1,000 to a nonprofit organization that is making an innovative, positive difference in community life. The nonprofit organization is chosen by the recipient of the award.

Church’s award-winning idea was to broaden the training and experience of the customer service representatives, giving them the financial skills and tools to better help their customers, and in turn enhancing their own career development.

Church selected the foundation to be the recipient of the monetary award in memory of his mother and former MRMC patient, Peggy Church. “I am a strong supporter not only of Maury Regional but also its foundation,” said Church. “My donation will be to honor my mother. Maury Regional became a part of our family through a very difficult time 12 years ago. They made a very difficult time somewhat bearable and I will be forever grateful.”
