HEART HEALTH EDUCATION GROUP DISCUSSES PROPER USE OF MEDICATIONS

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Healthy Hearts Education Group at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will discuss medications for heart disease on Tuesday, July 5, in the medical center’s Private Dining Room One at 1 p.m. The group, which meets monthly at MRMC, encourages the public to attend this free event.

Director of Pharmacy Jeff Binkley, PharmD, will discuss the important role of medications in the treatment and prevention of heart disease.

“There are several different types of drugs which can be prescribed for the prevention and treatment of heart disease,” said Binkley. “We will discuss how to take your medicines to avoid the potential of adverse effects or interactions with other drugs. We will also talk about what information should be shared with your health care provider when discussing these medications.”
