MARSHALL MEDICAL CENTER HOSTS HEALTHY LIFESTYLES PROGRAM ON MEDICATION SAFETY

LEWISBURG, Tenn. — Marshall Medical Center (MMC), an affiliate of Maury Regional Hospital, will host the next Healthy Lifestyles program, a series of free wellness programs, to benefit the community. The next meeting will take place on Thursday, November 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lewisburg Recreation Center.

Malinda Myhr, pharmacy supervisor at MMC, will present “Medication Safety.” Myhr will discuss tracking one’s medication intake, correct usage and possible pitfalls. “There is a lot you can do to make sure you get the most benefit from the medication, and stay safe in the process. We’ll go over medication safety tips for you and your loved ones,” said Myhr.

Myhr recommends keeping several things in mind when focusing on medication safety. Find out what drug you're taking and what it's for. The more you know about any medication you use, the better you can be sure you're using it properly. Find out how to take the drug and make sure you understand the directions. Keep a list of all medications, including over the counter drugs, as well as dietary supplements, medicinal herbs and other substances you take for health reasons, and report it to your health care providers.

The public is invited to attend this free event. A free lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by calling MMC at 359-6241.
