Marshall Medical Center accepts entries for Read Run Repay 5K event

LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Marshall Medical Center (MMC) is accepting entries for the second annual Read Run Repay 5K to be held on December 7. The event is part of a program that began in 2012 to encourage students to read at least one book, run or walk at least one mile, and to perform at least one good deed each week.

The 5K event will be held on Saturday, December 7, at Rock Creek Park. The race will begin at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $15 for students and $25 for adults. Those who register by November 26 will receive a T-shirt on the day of the race. A registration form is available at http://mauryregional.com/MMC.htm.

Proceeds from the event will benefit elementary schools in Marshall County.

Each student who completes the Read Run Repay program, including a one-mile fun run event at the individual schools, will receive a medal. The school with the most participation in the Read Run Repay program will claim a trophy that is passed from school to school each year. Last year’s trophy winner was Cornersville Elementary.
