Maury Regional Hospital Offers Help to Stop Smoking

Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia will offer a smoking cessation class beginning September 7.  The eight-week course will be held on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., September 7 through October 26 in the sixth floor conference room of the hospital.

Meetings are conducted in a group setting that provides support from peers who also want to quit.  The instructor—a former smoker—has received training from the American Lung Association as a certified smoking cessation facilitator and utilizes materials from the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking ® program.

The fee for the eight-week course is $75 (or the equivalent of approximately three cartons of cigarettes).  Those who attend ALL sessions will be refunded $50 upon completion of the program.  Those interested may attend the first class meeting without obligation.

Class size is limited.  For more information or to register contact the Maury

Regional Hospital Staff Development Office at 381.1111, ext. 2334.
