MAURY REGIONAL OFFERS SELF-ESTEEM WORKSHOP FOR GIRLS AND MENTORS

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A free workshop on improving self-esteem for girls will be offered at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) on Sunday, April 10, 2011. The workshop will be held from 1 until 5 p.m. in the Auxiliary Conference Room on the medical center’s first floor.

The workshop is designed for girls ages 8 to 12 to attend with their adult female mentors, including mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and aunts. The fun, educational and interactive session will help girls to focus on inner beauty, self-esteem and self-image.

“In today’s society, the pressure to look and act in certain ways can sometimes be overwhelming for young women,” said Karen McCombs, director of organizational development at MRMC. “Mothers, grandmothers and other female role models can help girls learn how to begin viewing themselves in a more positive light by joining them at this workshop.”

Refreshments will be served and seating is limited, so advance reservations are required. For more information or to register, call 931.381.1111, extension 2334, or visit mauryregional.com.
