MAURY REGIONAL WOMEN'S CENTER OFFERS LUNCHEON SEMINAR

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Maury Regional Women’s Center will host a free luncheon program titled Women Helping Women on Wednesday, August 17, at noon in the Auxiliary Conference Room at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC).

Pamela Ludwig, a registered nurse and founder of Pretty in Pink Boutique, will be the guest speaker. Ludwig will discuss advancements in breast cancer post-surgical recovery including the latest in prosthetics and compression garments.

“Women facing breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery have unique needs in order to maintain their comfort, femininity and dignity,” said Ludwig. “A wide variety of products are now available to help breast cancer survivors not only be comfortable but also regain their confidence.”

Pretty in Pink Boutique has several locations in Middle Tennessee and anticipates the opening of a new location inside the Maury Regional Women’s Center this fall, according to Dana Salters, women’s services coordinator. The new boutique will offer a non-clinical, fun environment for women recovering from breast cancer to receive custom fitting for garments that match their body shape, type of surgery and lifestyle needs. Breast forms, undergarments, compression garments, headwear, swimwear and pink ribbon items are among the merchandise women can expect to find.

The public is invited to attend this event. Lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by calling 931.540.4166.

Women Helping Women is a free quarterly lunch and learn series that addresses health issues facing women today.
