WAYNE MEDICAL CENTER HEALTH FAIR BENEFITS HUNDREDS IN COMMUNITY

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center’s (WMC) community health fair provided free health screenings and wellness information to nearly 350 community members on Saturday, October 24, between 8 a.m. and noon.

The third annual health fair was hosted at the National Guard Armory and featured approximately 20 booths, each giving away door prizes such as a free mammogram, prostate exam, and a fitness center membership. In addition to the screenings, wellness information and door prizes, the event also featured free kids activities and food and drinks.

Screenings included cholesterol and glucose screening, blood pressure checks, bone density testing, eye exam, hearing screening, nutrition body mass index (BMI), oxygen saturation and pulmonary function testing. Seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines were also provided.

Health fair sponsors were Wayne Medical Center, Duren’s Healthmart, Wayne County Bank, Peoples Bank, Medi-Serv, TN Quality Hospice, Sleep E-Z, and Volunteer Hospice.
