Wayne Medical Center dedicates Dr. J.V. Mangubat Surgery Suite

WAYNESBORO, Tenn. — Wayne Medical Center (WMC) hosted an open house on October 27. A large number of community members attended the event, which celebrated the hospital’s 50th anniversary and dedicated the recently updated surgery suite in honor of the late J.V. Mangubat, M.D.

The dedication ceremony included the unveiling of a plaque recognizing Dr. Mangubat’s 45 years of service to Wayne County and the surrounding area. Dr. Mangubat and his family moved to Waynesboro in 1967 and he continued medical practice there until the age of 83. The street in front of Wayne Medical Center was named in his honor in 1996.

Those attending the open house were able to see the newly updated surgery suite as well as other services offered at Wayne Medical Center.The hospital began serving the residents of Wayne County and the surrounding area in 1963.
