About the Foundation

The Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation supports Maury Regional Hospital and its affiliates’ efforts in expanding health care services and community outreach programs. Financial support received through the foundation is used for projects that include community health initiatives, funding medication and transportation expenses for patients in need, operating a hospitality home and providing wigs and headpieces for cancer patients, funding a full-time community health nurse to reach underserved populations, and other health-related projects.

The foundation’s board of directors is comprised of community leaders from Maury, Lewis, Marshall and Wayne counties. All gifts – large or small – are greatly appreciated and help provide additional health services for our community.

The Maury Regional Healthcare Foundation, chartered in October 2006, is designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax-deductible. Gifts may be made in honor or in memory of an individual and may be donated to one of the following funds:

Cancer Fund

This fund was established to provide cancer patients with wigs and various headpieces who would otherwise be unable to obtain such items.

Community Health Fund

This fund is used to provide a community health nurse to conduct screenings and health education to persons without adequate access to health care services.

Diabetes Fund

This fund provides educational materials and classroom instruction for diabetic patients.

The Retreat Fund

This fund assists in providing a hospitality house for cancer patients undergoing treatments at the Maury Regional Hospital Cancer Center and for parents of babies in the neonatal intensive care unit. This house provides a quiet place to rest between treatments or overnight accommodations for out-of-town patients.

Special Needs Fund

This fund was established to provide financial resources to patients in need of medication or transportation as well as families of patients in need of food or overnight accommodations.

William R. Walter Employee Assistance Fund

This fund was established to assist Maury Regional Hospital employees during unexpected emergencies or with their continuing education.
