COLUMBIA, TN – Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) has adopted the Rapid Processing of Perfusion and Diffusion (RAPID®) platform, the most advanced cerebrovascular imaging software for identifying treatment options for stroke patients.
A stroke occurs when a vessel in the brain is blocked by a blood clot or ruptures. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and the leading cause of permanent disability in the U.S.

The RAPID® platform enables physicians to be informed and easily communicate about the extent of a patient’s blood flow changes in the brain. Clot-dissolving drugs have the potential to dramatically reduce long-term disability if given within three hours of having a stroke or up to 4.5 hours in certain eligible patients.
