BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
Breast cancer survivors are joined by guest speakers and clinical professionals to provide support in coping with breast cancer. Attendees range from long-term survivors to those newly diagnosed. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. (no meetings in July and August) in the Maury Regional Women's Center and topics include breast cancer treatment, hormone therapies and support services available. CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
The Cancer Support Group provides support to everyone impacted by cancer, including the newly diagnosed, cancer survivors and their family and friends. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. and will provide attendees the opportunity to discuss the challenges, frustrations, fears and feelings associated with cancer. DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP
Meetings take place at the Maury Regional Annex, which is located at 1223 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia (across from the hospital). For those who prefer to join virtually, a Webex option is also available. To participate virtually, please call 931.540.4324 or email mkennedy@mauryregional.com in advance of the meeting to obtain the video conferencing information.
The Diabetes Support Group (formerly known as the Diabetes Education Group) meets each month to share information about the management of diabetes. Meetings are facilitated by a certified diabetes educator and topics include controlling blood sugar, the impact of diabetes on the vascular system and much more. Those with diabetes and their family members are encouraged to attend this meeting held in the Maury Regional Annex. For more information, call 931.540.4324.
Pediatric Diabetes Support Group
If your child is diagnosed with diabetes, it is perfectly natural to have questions and concerns — particularly in the beginning as you learn to navigate the condition. That’s why Maury Regional Health is offering a free Pediatric Diabetes Support Group. The group will meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Maury Regional Annex (1223 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia). MENTAL HEALTH guidance & SUPPORT GROUP
Beyond Tomorrow is a monthly guidance and support group for those ages 65 and older experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Meetings are facilitated by counselors and therapists with the Senior Life Solutions program at Marshall Medical Center. Meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month at 2:30 p.m. at the Lewisburg Recreation Center located at 1551 Mooresville Highway in Lewisburg. STROKE SUPPORT GROUP
The Stroke Support Group is for those who have experienced a stroke as well as their family, caregivers and friends. Meetings are held in the Maury Regional Annex located at 1223 Trotwood Avenue – across from the hospital – at 6 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month (except for a combined November/December meeting). Agendas vary and include speakers, networking, resource information and much more. Stroke survivors are encouraged to attend as this meeting is especially for you.
