HONOR OR REMEMBER SOMEONE
Donations may be made in honor or in memory of a family member, friend, or group. Donors may designate the gift to the general (unrestricted) fund or select a fund of importance to the person you wish to honor. The honoree or closest member of the family will receive an acknowledgment card from the Foundation that will inform them of your gift. To make a gift in honor or memory of someone, click here.
RECOGNIZE A CAREGIVER
Maury Regional Health providers, caregivers, employees and volunteers affect the lives of patients and visitors each day. Through the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation Extraordinary Hero program, patients and visitors are able to support the Foundation while recognizing someone who provided excellent care. Recognized recipients will receive a card informing them of your thoughtful gift and will also receive a custom-crafted lapel pin to wear. In addition to the online recognition and donation option, donors may also contact the Foundation office directly at 931.380.4075 or inpatients can request a form from his or her nurse during a visit.
Recognize A Doctor
Each year, hospitals and communities throughout the country observe National Doctor’s Day on March 30. Maury Regional Health is blessed to have more than 500 of the most talented and accomplished providers in the nation. To make a gift to the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation in honor of a physician and help patients in need on Doctor’s Day, or any day you choose, click here.
DOT's Closet
In June 2022, the Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary established Dot's Closet, a clothing closet for discharging patients in need. The closet is intended to lift up the patients it serves. It also honors the legacy of Dorothy Sowell, a founding member of the Auxiliary and a woman who devoted her life to serving others. LEAVING A LEGACY
Planned giving provides donors with a variety of options through which to donate, including bequests or living trusts, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, real estate and others.
The Walton Legacy Society is named after Dr. Charles D. Walton, a prominent force in bringing Maury Regional Hospital to reality and the first chief of staff of the hospital. This society is used to honor individuals who have included the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation in their estate planning. The Walton Legacy Society members are prominently listed at the top of the Foundation donor recognition display located in the main lobby of Maury Regional Medical Center. To become a member of the Walton Legacy Society, the donor’s estate planner must notify the Foundation in writing of their estate plans for a deferred gift to the Foundation. Membership is recognized when the Foundation receives documentation verifying that the donor has left a deferred gift to the Foundation in their estate plans. Deferred gifts may be unrestricted or restricted and can be endowed.
Walton Legacy Society members include Dr. O. Rebecca Hawkins, Leonard Hickman, Waymon L. Hickman, Tillman Knox, the Estate of Jean Ewing Love and Charles and Gail Pigg.
If you or someone you know is interested in discussing a way to leave a legacy through the Foundation, contact us.
ENDOWMENT
An endowment is a fund established for a specific purpose with donations invested so that the fund grows over time. Donations of $25,000 will establish a named endowment and—as the fund grows—a portion of interest or investment growth may be used for the endowment’s purpose. Current endowments are the Robert Otwell Cancer Center Endowment and the Wellness & Aquatics Complex Healthy Living Endowment.
If you would like more information about any of the options above, please contact the Foundation Office.
