COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The founding board members of the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation were honored at a special event on June 15 for their contributions in helping to establish the Foundation in 2006.

Held at the Maury Regional Annex, the Founders Dinner included a dozen members of the inaugural board. The event was hosted by Eslick Daniel, MD, and Darlene Baxter. Dr. Daniel, a former orthopedic surgeon on the Maury Regional Health medical staff, was the Foundation’s board chair from 2006-2012. Baxter served as the Foundation’s executive director from 2006-2009 and is a former Maury Regional Medical Center vice president.

“The Founders Dinner has been a long time in the making,” Foundation Executive Director Joe Kilgore said. “We’re so happy to be able to gather these fantastic people in one room to recognize them for their contributions. The Foundation wouldn’t be what it is today without their vision and dedication.”

A designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Foundation was established to help expand Maury Regional Health’s services and community outreach programs throughout southern Middle Tennessee. It has provided more than $4.1 million in programs and services since its formation.

The Foundation also provides financial support for Maury Regional Health’s mobile medical unit, which provides health care services and support to underserved individuals throughout the region. Since the unit began operation in 2018, it has helped more than 20,000 people.

Administrative expenses for the Foundation are funded by Maury Regional Health, so donors can feel confident that dollars received go directly to the community and those in need. Gifts may be made in honor or in memory of an individual.
