04.25.2018

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Maury Regional Health Care Foundation will again participate in The Big Payback, a community-wide 24-hour online giving challenge hosted by the Community Foundation of Tennessee. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 2, when a local rally will bring several Maury County nonprofit organizations together to showcase their work to the community.

The Big Payback has helped nonprofit organizations in Middle Tennessee to raise more than $9 million in the past four years. Organizations benefit from online donations and are eligible for incentive prizes throughout the day. This year’s event will begin at midnight on May 2, and continue until 11:59 p.m. Donations will be accepted by credit, debit or electronic check at TheBigPayback.org. A leaderboard at TheBigPayback.org will display giving totals in real-time.

The Foundation is one of several community nonprofit organizations that will participate in a Maury County rally event in conjunction with The Big Payback. The rally will be held on Wednesday, May 2, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the future site of Firefighter Park, located adjacent to Columbia Fire Department Station Number 1 at 1000 S. Garden Street in Columbia. Organizations will host booths that showcase their work in the community. Donors are invited to visit the booths, learn more about each agency’s work and make online donations on-site. Several food trucks will be present during the rally. The public may park in the fire station’s front parking lot.

Nonprofit agencies participating in the Maury County Rally as part of The Big Payback include:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Maury County
  • Building Block School for the Arts
