Lewis Health Center hosts free health fair on September 8

HOHENWALD, Tenn. — Lewis Health Center (LHC) will host its annual community health fair on Saturday, September 8, from 8 until 11 a.m., according to LHC Director Hugh Bennett. The free event will be held in the Family Life Center at Blondy Church of God, located at 529 Swan Avenue in Hohenwald.

Staff members from LHC will be joined by a number of community organizations to showcase available services and provide information on health and wellness topics. Free screenings and wellness tests to be offered include:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Bone density analysis
  • Grip strength testing
  • Lipid panel/glucose screening (fasting for 12 hours recommended)
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Skin cancer screening provided by the Maury Regional Cancer Center

In addition to informational booths and wellness screenings, there will be refreshments and door prizes. The Maury Regional Health mobile health unit will be onsite. Blood Assurance will also hold a blood drive during the event. Donation appointments may be scheduled in advance at BloodAssurance.org or by calling 931.796.4901.

The public is encouraged to attend this free health fair sponsored by Lewis Health Center, along with Avalon Hospice, Cornerstone Health Systems, Lewis County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Tennessee Quality Homecare & Hospice and Volunteer Home Care of West TN.
