Marshall Medical Center earns accreditation in CT imaging

07.25.2019

LEWISBURG, Tenn. – Marshall Medical Center (MMC) has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography (CT) by the American College of Radiology (ACR) following a recent survey. CT imaging – sometimes called CAT scanning – is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and tailor treatments for various medical conditions.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is only awarded to facilities meeting ACR practice parameters and technical standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed.

“The dedication to patient safety and image quality demonstrated by our imaging staff and radiologists is reflected in this accreditation award for our CT services,” said MMC CEO Phyllis Brown.

CT is among a range of diagnostic imaging modalities offered by MMC. Other imaging services available at the facility include magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear medicine, 3D mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry. Learn more here.
