MASH Student Program

COVID-19 Update:

Out of an abundance of caution, Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) has decided to cancel the 2020 Maury Academy for Students in Health (MASH) program, which had been scheduled for June 8-19. Interviews originlly scheduled to take place in April will therefore not be conducted.

Please understand that this decision was not reached without careful consideration. While we realize the MASH program offers numerous benefits to area students, we must place the highest priority on serving our patients and protecting the health of the community. Thank you for your understanding.

The Maury Academy for Students in Health (MASH) Program is a two-week health careers summer camp held each June for high school students interested in learning about health professions.

Exposure to different areas of medicine and health-related professions is an integral part of the MASH experience. Students interact with experts such as physicians, registered nurses, medical technologists, radiologic technologists and respiratory therapists. During the program, students learn about physical assessment, casting, suturing, medical terminology and much more.

Applicants must be entering their junior or senior year in high school, have completed one biology class, demonstrate scholastic ability and critical thinking skills and provide recommendations from school personnel. Students must also attend an interview as part of the application process.

Applications for the program are only accepted during February each year. The application window for the MASH 2020 program is now closed.
