Maury Regional NICU hosts 12th annual reunion

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) will host its annual reunion on Saturday, September 15. The event will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, located at 2712 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia.

This year’s reunion will mark the 12th anniversary of Maury Regional’s NICU, which began serving families in 2006 in collaboration with Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The eight-bed unit is staffed with neonatal physicians, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal registered nurses and respiratory therapists who are specially trained to provide a more acute level of newborn care. The NICU at Maury Regional has served more than 2,000 patients and their families in the past 12 years.

“The reunion is one of the highlights of the year for our staff members, who look forward to seeing how much our NICU graduates have grown since they were in our care,” said NICU Nurse Manager Kim Morrow.

All children who have graduated from the NICU are invited to attend the reunion along with their parents, siblings and grandparents. Activities will include games, snacks and much more. This year’s event will have a fun monsters theme.

Those who plan to attend are encouraged to register in advance. To register or receive more information, call 931.540.4281.
