03.25.2019

COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Health conditions related to obesity are among the leading causes of preventable death. A free seminar on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m. at the Maury Regional Annex in Columbia will provide information about surgical options available to those who struggle with weight and related chronic health conditions.

Patrick Davis, M.D., a general surgeon with Maury Regional Medical Group Surgery, will provide an overview of weight loss surgery, including the two types of procedures he performs at Maury Regional Medical Center.

“Bariatric surgery is a life-changing decision that has not only been shown to be the most effective method for weight loss, but is also a way to treat, and often prevent, chronic health conditions associated with obesity,” said Dr. Davis.

During the upcoming seminar, Dr. Davis will discuss the process that can prepare an individual for weight loss surgery and the lifestyle changes that can follow these procedures.

To register for this free seminar, call 931.381.1111, extension 2445, or email RSVP@mauryregional.com. Individuals may also register online in the Classes and Events section.

Those unable to attend who would like to receive additional information may call 931.381.9338.
