Maury Regional Medical Center has a multidisciplinary neurological team to treat patients at the hospital, including a neuro-hospitalist, a physician board certified in neurology dedicated to the treatment of patients admitted to the hospital. This team, complemented by around-the-clock tele-neurology services (web-based video consults), treats patients experiencing:

  • Stroke
  • Seizures
  • Neurological complications from diseases/conditions
  • Rapidly progressing dementia


Surgeries of the brain offered at the hospital by a neurosurgeon include:

  • craniotomies and radiosurgery for brain tumors
  • stereotactic biopsies of the brain
  • management of chronic subdural hematomas


Surgeries for the spine conducted at the hospital may be performed by a neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon and include:

  • spinal surgery for degenerative disease
  • cervical and lumbar stenosis
  • disk herniation
  • spinal instability
  • removal of benign and malignant spinal tumors

Therapy services are also available in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. We also offer a special therapy program for Parkinson’s patients.
