Since opening in November 2022, Maury Regional Occupational Health has provided its business partners with a unique workers’ compensation program that includes initial evaluation, follow-up visits and return-to-work assessments.
“While most facilities provide only an initial evaluation, at Maury Regional Occupational Health we also provide follow-up workers’ comp visits so we can make the proper return-to-work assessments and recommend activity restrictions if needed,” said Linda Oakley, MSN, RN, director of Maury Regional Occupational Health.
Maury Regional Occupational Health’s care team has extensive knowledge and experience regarding state and federal workers’ comp guidelines, and they work closely with businesses to understand their return-to-work policies.
“We partner with employers to treat their injured employees while keeping in mind the importance of returning them to work as soon as appropriate,” Oakley said.
Employees sent to Maury Regional Occupational Health for an initial workers’ comp visit can do so on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Any necessary follow-up appointment will then be made for evaluation and treatment of the work-related injury or illness.
If assistance is needed on the weekend, an initial evaluation may be obtained by visiting Maury Regional Urgent Care at 1218 Trotwood Ave. in Columbia. Maury Regional Urgent Care’s Saturday and Sunday hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The follow-up appointment will be made at Maury Regional Occupational Health.
Visits to Maury Regional Occupational Health are not billed to the employee’s personal insurance. All bills are sent directly to the employer or to the workers’ compensation insurance carrier. In addition, personal payment is an option for those who are self-employed.
