spiritual care

At Maury Regional Health, we provide spiritual support for patients, their families, caregivers, physicians and all support staff. The spiritual care team consists of employees and volunteers who are committed to providing comfort, prayer, assistance and other dynamic spiritual aspects of faith.

hospital-based pastoral care

Hospital chaplains may be reached by calling 931.540.4243 or 931.540.4245. Patients who are currently in our care may also ask their nurse to contact the chaplain for them. This service is available to people of all faiths. Current patients may also request a visit from a minister of their specific denomination.

In addition, Maury Regional Medical Center offers a chapel as a place of reflection, respite and refuge. The chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital, next to the cafe and across from the Admitting office, and includes Bibles, literature, resources and a quiet space.

Grief Support Group

Maury Regional Health offers a recurring Grief Support Group led by our hospital chaplain that meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Maury Regional Women's Center, which is located in the Pavilion at 1220 Trotwood Avenue in Columbia. There is no cost to attend and registration is not required.

To view upcoming support group meetings, please refer to the Classes & Events Calendar available here.

Community Resources

The medical center's chaplain is also available to meet with faith organizations in the community to discuss several topics, including training on preparing for visits to a hospital or skilled-nursing unit as well as resilience, self-care and spiritual care of those battling serious illnesses.
